Here is some information on the arrival to Cancun International Airport and
transportation to the Host Hotel ME Melia Cancun.
1.
The distance between the airport and the ME Melia Hotel is about 23 km, and
the trip takes about 15 min traveling along boulevard Kukulkan (going first
towards the east and then towards the north). Plaza Kukulkan is (in the
right-hand side) about one km before the ME Melia Hotel, and Plaza Las Islas
is (in the left-hand side) about 200 m before the ME Melia Hotel.
2.
One can travel from the airport to the ME Melia Hotel using:
a) An
authorized-airport taxi service (about 50 USD)
b) A
limousine (about 11 USD per person), up to six persons, with waiting time (5
to 15 min), and stops at various hotels along
Kukulkan Boulevard.
The
tickets can be bought in the front desks and/or booths located before the
airport exit (coming from the international flights exit), using mexican
pesos, US dollars, or euros. There are some electronic cashiers near by.
Employees and drivers speak some english, sufficient to get the hotel
destination message from the foreign user.
3.
The official travel agency (URSUS ARIA) has made special airport-ME Melia
Hotel limousine transportation arrangements for CAB and DYCOPS 2007
participants (about 11 USD per person): in-advance (http://ifac-dycopscab2007.congresosaria.com/)
or in-situ booking, payment when arriving at the ME Melia Hotel. The agency
representatives will have a sign with the legend “CAB DYCOPS 2007”.

use only authorized transportation services, and make sure the price is
clear and arranged before boarding the vehicle.

be done in the hotel or in banks located in the close by Plaza La Isla

tours, you may visit the official travel agency (URSUS ARIA) page (http://ifac-dycopscab2007.congresosaria.com/.
For in situ booking, you should contact the URSUS ARIA desk in the ME Melia
Host Hotel. Basically, in Cancun there are several companies that offer
these services with similar schedules: departing after breakfast (or lunch)
from the hotel, returning before dinner to the hotel, and using air
conditioned buses.
6.
Weather: Cancun has a semi-tropical weather with an average temperature of
80 degrees Fahrenheit and hot humidity, so we recommend to bring some cotton
clothes for the day, and something warmer because there is some breeze at
night.
